Our focus will be on helping students solidify these skills and take the next steps toward more fluent reading through hands-on activities, games, and guided practice in a small-group setting.
Our weekly focus will include:
Week 1: Review of short vowels and consonant sounds
Week 2: Review of digraphs and their sounds
Week 3: Learning and reviewing how to sound out letter sounds to read words
Week 4: Learning and reviewing two- and three-letter blends
Week 5: Long vowel sounds and silent e
Week 6: Words with -ng endings
Week 7: Words with -nk endings
Week 8: Review and informal assessment
